A piece of history of our hockey club

Today, before the game between «Neftekhimik» and «Vityaz» there was a celebration dedicated to people who are most directly related to the development of professional hockey in Nizhnekamsk.

The annals of our team contain the following lines:

... In 1989, in an uncompromising struggle, «Neftekhimik» won the ticket to class «A». This time the tournament was held in Rybinsk (Yaroslavl region). The senior coach was Gennady Sergeyev, the playing coach was Vladimir  Storonkin and the head of the team was Boris Seleznyov.

   In 1991, «Neftekhimik» entered a new phase of development: the city got a hockey-sports club «Neftekhimik» based on «Neftekhimik» team. Boris Seleznyov was appointed the president of the club...

   The fact that «Neftekhimik» has been playing in the elite of  Russian hockey for 25 years is a great merit of these people and they rightfully take their place in the history of our club.

Director of  HC «Neftekhimik» Igor Larionov noted the enormous merits of Gennady Sergeyev, Boris Seleznyov and Vladimir Storonkin to our club and presented them memorable gifts. After this, General Director of  PJSC «Nizhnekamskneftekhim» Airat Safin  and Chairman of the Board of Directors of  LLC HC  «Neftekhimik», Commercial Director of PJSC «Nizhnekamskneftekhim» Timur  Shigabutdinov, congratulated them on the 25th anniversary of HC «Neftekhimik»’ joining the elite of Russian hockey.

Our hockey team did not disappoint, and got a win over «Vityaz» 4:3.
