Alexander Sudnitsin speaks with the media after following overtime loss against CSKA.
– It was a first time you faced the play where an-extra player was on the ice instead of goaltender in overtime. Is it harder to play 3vs4 with opponents empty net?– It is much harder to play 3vs4 than 4vs5. CSKA have skilled guys, they have great possession of the puck. We analyzed any options of the overtime. You know, 7 seconds left before the end of the overtime. CSKA took advantage of its goal–scoring chance.
– Do you, as a goaltender and the whole line, know what to do if there is this kind of scenario on the ice?
– We analyze that is the best way to play against 4 or 5 players. There is nothing special. Everyone knew what to do. CSKA had a great hold on the puck. We were a bit unlucky – there was an icing twice. Unfortunately, we conceded that goal 7 seconds before the end of the overtime.
– How did the team manage to get better after EHT?
– We always work. We have a great team. Everyone is ready to stand up for each other. If something does not work out, then, as it says, work hard and play hard. We do not give up, we work and we are where we are.
