Ansel Galimov: «We made more than 60 shots on goal and did not score»

Neftekhimik forward Ansel Galimov speaks with the media after a following 1–3 loss against Sochi.

– We did not take advantage of pur power play chances. We must forget this game and apologize to the fans. We heard what happened when we could not enter the offensive zone… We ask for their support. In upcoimg games, we need your support more than ever. We understand that we have problems with our power play. We work a lot on this on practice, but in the game, we cannot score. We have two games ahead and we want to make playoffs.

– Ansel, there are two decisive games ahead. What the team need to do in order to avoid mistakes like today’s game?

– Based on my experience, I can say that we should forget this game. Tomorrow we will have a team meeting and work on our mistakes. Sure, this is hockey and you have to respect the opponent and we respect the opponent, but today we did not manage to do what we wanted to. We are waiting for the fans at the next game and I think their support will give us confidence.

– Two players were injured - Fedotov and Belozyorov. Did their absence affect the way Neftekhimik played?

– I do not know what to say about it. We had thirteenth forward Sergei Kuptsov, I think he fit into the game well. Of course, when a certain player leaves the game, you lose some kind of a chemistry between lines. Of course, both Fedotov and Belozyorov are key players of the team. Nevertheless, I think that we played well. Today we made more than 60 shots on goal and did not score. This is not an excuse and we will continue to work. We are waiting for the fans at the next games. They are the best and we love them.
