Neftekhimik got a win over Avtomobilist 4–1.
Both teams played fast–paced hockey in the first period. Our team had the advantage in shots, but unfortunately, we were not able to take advantage of it.
Early in the second period, Neftekhimik scored its first goal – Zhafyarov scored at even strength. Avtomobilist also had a chance to score on the power play, but the shot hit the post. However, Avtomobilist managed to score one goal on the power play.
In the third period, Neftekhimik had a great chance to take the lead. Danila Yurtaikin scored on a 5–on–3 hockey. Two minutes later, Nikita Popugayev tipped the puck in after a shot by Artyom Serikov, scoring his first KHL goal. Avtomobilist had a chance to get back into the game when they had 5–on–3 advantage. Neftekhimik did its best and did not concede any goals. With two and a half minutes remaining in the third period, Andrei Belozyorov scored an empty net goal.
