Neftekhimik forward Evgeny Mityakin speaks with the media after a following 2–3 loss agaisnt Avtomobilist.
– It is hard to comment on the beginning of the game. We knew that the opponent always starts strong. And we were preparing for this. But, unfortunately, it turned out that way.We ourselves need to attack the opponent's goal more, shoot more, keep the defense on edge.
That is what we did in the second period. We turned the game around, tied the score, but we did not hold out enough. We missed the third goal.
We had a chance to save the game at the end of the third period, but the home team's goalie kept his team in the game.
Overall, we have a game, we have character. However, there are certain details that get in the way, and we need to focus on them. We need to play more strictly in defense, play creatively in attack. We need to psychologically turn this series around. Although I would not say it is a psychological issue. We just need to go out and win the next match.
– Did you quickly find chemistry with Riley Barber?
– Yesterday and today we discussed some things before the game. Riley is a good player, a professional. He has high skill, it is pleasant to play with him. We agreed on what we will do in certain game situations.
