Evgeny Mityakin: «We played 68 games in order to make playoffs»

Neftekhimik forward Evgeny Mityakin speaks with the media after a following 7–0 win against Kunlun RS.

– It was a good game. The first period was nervous one. The guys understood that everything depends on us. Therefore, we played a little cautiously. During the break, we talked and were ready for the second period. We played well, scored important goals, worked hard in our D-zone. Overall, it was a good game. I would like to say thank you to our fans. We had a great support. Congratulations to everyone one making playoffs.

– Indeed, the first period was a diffierent one in compare with second and third.

– I agree. We had no right to make mistakes. During the first intermission, the coaching staff give us advice how to play. After scoring first goal of the game, we got more confidence. It is not easy to play against Kunlun RS.

– We will face Ak Bars in the playoffs. What are the chances for Neftekhimik to advance to the second round?

– In the playoffs, everything starts all over again. We played good games against Ak Bars. Nobody is going to give up. We will fight. Playoffs is the important stage of the season. We played 68 games in order to make playoffs. Sure, Ak Bars is a strong and skilful team. We will try to do our best.
