Grigory Seleznyov: «We needed to score some goals»

18.11.2025

Neftekhimik forward Grigory Seleznyov speaks with the media after a following 3–6 loss against Avtomobilist.

– We played an offensive hockey, with plenty of scoring opportunities on both sides. Unfortunately, Avtomobilist was good at capitalizing on it.

What happened in the second period when we conceded back–to–back goals?
Nothing outrageous happened; we played our game. Again, our opponents were better at capitalizing on scoring opportunities.

We are conceding first again...
Basically, our goal is to score more goals, and everyone is focused on attacking, but we also need to always play well in the defensive zone. No matter the score, no matter the situation.

What was missing to turn the game around?
I think that we needed to score some goals. Basically, we created a lot of goal–scoring chacnes. In some cases, the opposing goalie played well, in others, we simply were not handling the puck well.
