Grigory Seleznyov: «We needed to win this game»
06.01.2025
Neftekhimik forward Grigory Seleznyov speaks with the media after a following 2–1 win over Sibir.
– It was a good, competitive game. We played against a direct playoffs opponent, so everyone played more cautiously. We were able to score second goal, that is why we won.– Today you scored an unusual goal. Perhaps, you was more hoping for luck when you took the shot?
– We got out of the zone well, and Nikita Khoruzhev made a great pass. When I shot, I hoped that the puck would either go into the goal or bounce back to my teammates. Fortunately, we had the first scenario.
– As you noted earlier, we beat a direct playoffs opponent, who also gained decent momentum. Perhaps such victories become even more valuable?
– Sure! In addition, we had a losing streak. We needed to win this game to gain positive emotions and move on.
