Igor Fyodorov: «The first period was a disaster for us»
09.12.2025

Reaktor Head Coach Igor Fyodorov speaks with the media after a following 0–5 loss against Omskie Yastreby.
– The first period was a disaster for us. The opposing team has won only once in their last seven games, so they came out to die. We discussed this after the game in Togliatti. We completely lost the slot battles, and you can't win games with zero goals scored. The puck wasn't going in, so someone did something wrong. Failure to follow the coach's instructions led to a disappointing outcome. But the second period has to be highlighted; it turned out pretty good.
– Our opponent scored a quick goal. Do you think that had an emotional impact on the team?
– I don't think so. We had a lot of time ahead. But if forwards want to get into the KHL or VHL, they need to be able to play defense. We pay special attention to this in practice, but today they didn't meet our requirements
– You put five forwards on the power play at the end of the game. Why did you decide to do that?
– Our power play didn't work out. Everyone was throwing at the goalie, but no one could get it past him. We wanted to score at least one goal, but, alas, it didn't work out. Nothing terrible happened, we keep working.
