Igor Grishin: «It will be an interesting challenge»
17.10.2026
Neftekhimik Head Coach Igor Grishin speaks with the media before tomorrow's game against CSKA.
– Our team has a three-game road trip ahead. The victory over Traktor surely provided an emotional boost to the players – something that is very important heading into these upcoming games.– When your last game ends in a win, the mood is always lifted. So, we are hoping the mindset is good. After today's practice, the team’s spirits are in a good place.
– You generally prefer not to discuss the opposition, focusing instead on your own game – but what would you say are the strengths of these upcoming opponents?
– All three teams are league leaders. There is CSKA, who are currently on an unbeaten streak; Lokomotiv, a recent champion; and Avangard, a club that always sets the highest possible goals. These are, without a doubt, top-tier teams in our league, so it will be an interesting challenge to play against them.
– Is everyone healthy and fit, and will the full squad be making the trip?
– Yes – Nikita Khoruzhev is on the mend and has already started training. So, thank goodness, everyone is healthy, and we are all heading out together!
