Igor Grishin: «There is still plenty of time before the start of the season»

Neftekhimik head coach Igor Grishin speaks with the media after a following 1–4 loss against Ak Bars.
– For us, this game was the first time we went out with a more or less optimal lineup. It was an interesting game with many good moments. Yes, we lost with an unpleasant score. But the players are just getting used to the new coaching staff, new tasks and the training process. I can say from my own experience that the beginning of the preseason is always difficult. But over time, the players get used to the tasks and exercises that we give them and show the desired result. Of course, we will work on the mistakes. There is still plenty of time before the start of the season.– You have assembled a rather interesting fourth line. Nadvorny, Yakubov, Popugayev... How satisfied are you with their performance?
– They played interestingly in moments. The guys are fast, creative, and athletically angry. Despite their modest experience playing in the KHL, they are progressing. So I am confident that the guys will succeed.
– Dergachyov played for the first time in 10 months. Is he ready for the games?
– He is slowly getting better. Of course, not everything works out. Sometimes he gets upset when something does not go his way. But Alexander is a great professional. He will definitely get into shape, it just takes a little more time. We will try to involve him in preseason games as often as possible so that he gets into the rhythm as quickly as possible.
