Neftekhimik Head Coach Igor Grishin speaks with the media before the road trip.
– The previous games against Lada and Avtomobilist were not successful. Have you analyzed those games?
– Those games were quite a while ago. We probably analyzed them immediately after the games. Now the coaching staff is also watching the recent games of these opponents. We are taking notes to understand what we can do to overcome the opponent.
– We play better against top teams than against teams of equal skill. Why?
– Unfortunately, it is what it is. Apparently, the guys are more aggressive mentally against top teams, trying to do their best, which is why these games are more successful. Honestly, we approach every game as if it were a decisive one, but the season is long, and we can not always play consistently. Perhaps we are experiencing a slump against these teams. Let's hope we can gradually improve that.
