– The game was divided into so many different parts that it is very difficult to give it a complete assessment.
You could say that we were overcome with euphoria after the victory over Avto, and that is why we failed the first period. It is good that Stalnye Lisy scored only one goal against us.
And we were overcome with euphoria when we scored the third goal at the beginning of the third period. We thought that we had already won.
The downsides include the ugly penalties.
But there were still more good things. We pulled ourselves together and gave a powerful second period. When there was a five-minute penalty, the atmosphere on the bench was simply indescribable. Everyone supported each other, everyone was sure that we would hold out and turn the tide of the match. And no one barks at each other, no one pushes for mistakes - this is a real team.
I really like how the guys began to react to difficulties, how they react to criticism. Sevastyan Sokolov was told during the break that he was not playing the game that a leader should play. And in the end, he scored twice, deciding the fate of the match in overtime. Well done!
For our team, it may be good that we were not able to bring the game to victory in regulations. We showed character. Character is most important in the fight for the play-in. This is the fourth game in the championship that we have won outside of regulation time. Such successes temper us.
