Neftekhimik defenseman Ilya Pastukhov speaks with the media after a following 1–4 loss against Ak Bars.
– We lost the slot battle. You canot do that against a team like Ak Bars – that is why have this score on the scoreboard.
– You had a good fight against Dynyak. Were you trying to get the team fired up?
– No, it was just hockey – I stood up for my teammate. Of course, fights usually get the team fired up. That was not the case today. I repeat, I stood up for my teammate.
– Ak Bars played aggressive hockey and outshot us for two times more. Why?
– For some reason, they had more space. We lost the slot battles, and against a team like that, you have to go out there and play not just one hundred percent, but two hundred percent.
– What needs to be improved for the next game?
– We need to pull ourselves together and do our best. We can do it, so we need everyone to give everything they can do and everything we know.
– What about physical condition?
– I cannot complain about physical condition. We are doing well in this regard.
