– What are your overall impressions of the contest? In particular, the second period witnessed frequent altercations and provocative exchanges. How would you assess that aspect of the game?– First and foremost, I wouldl like to express my gratitude to the fans. They cultivated an exceptional and vibrant atmosphere. We have truly missed competitive hockey, and the city itself has yearned for it. I extend my sincere appreciation – the noise level was remarkable today, and every moment was audible.
With regard to the altercations, the match took on a different complexion, and the rhythm of play was somewhat disrupted. The opposition features a significant contingent of foreign players, predominantly North Americans, which naturally informs their style of hockey. In my assessment, we allowed ourselves to be drawn into those skirmishes, which consequently affected the flow of the game. This is a lesson we must assimilate and apply moving forward.
– What aspect of your game requires the most immediate improvement?
– I believe the paramount priority is maintaining concentration throughout the full sixty minutes, particularly in the moments following goals – whether scored or conceded. As the adage goes, the most critical shift occurs immediately after a goal is registered. Therefore, the emphasis must be on sustained focus.
