– Matvei, the first and second periods were so different. Your team played well in the first, but things did not go your way in the second. Why did that happen?– We probably stopped following the coaching staff's game plan, and our game fell apart. We stopped controlling the puck. And if you give the puck to Metallurg, they know exactly what to do with it – they have players like Tkachyov and Tolchinsky. We needed to play with the puck and keep possession.
– It was your first game today, and you scored right away.
– It is great that it turned out that way. It was my first game of the season, my first shift, and my first touch of the puck. I have to thank the guys – Petunin dug the puck out, and Nikolishin set me up perfectly for the shot. It was a good play, but then again, the main thing is winning – we really wanted the victory.
