Neftekhimik lost to Metallurg Mg 6–9.
The coaching staff decided to put Yaroslav Ozolin as a starting goaltender. There were other changes as well. Danil Yurtaikin was out, and, accordingly, there were line changes...After fifth conceded goal Yaroslav Ozolin was replaced by a young goaltender Semyon Lyubalin, who was making his KHL debut. Unfortunately, Semyon conceded his first goal 40 seconds after that. After 1–7 on the scoreboard, Yaroslav Ozolin made hiss way back to the net. He did hiss best in the shootout against Evgeny Kuznetsov.
Neftekhimik played to the very end and scored four goals in the third. The team put its new record – Neftekhimik scored three shorthanded goals in one game.
