Neftekhimik got a win over Traktor 4–2.

Eduard Gimatov scored first goal of the game midway through the first period. Our opponent tied the game up quickly. A few minutes later, Vyacheslav Leshchenko scored his 8th goal in 10 games and gave a one-goal lead to Neftekhimik.

Traktor was on 7-game winning streak and tried to keep it going. As a result, our opponent made it 2–2 going into the third. It seemed that overtime was looking inevitable by the time Pavel Poryadin changed everything with a couple of minutes to go. Our forward took advantage of a mistake by Traktor defenseman and scored 3rd Neftekhimik goal.

Opposing team was in search of one more tying goal and replaced its goalie by an extra-player. Fortunately for Neftekhimik, Dan Sexton scored an empty-net goal to seal the deal.
