- That was a hard-fought battle. We fought to the very end. We got too much penalties. In the third period, we had an opportunity to tie the game. We are in process of developing as a team. I think that we played well.
- Why Libor Hudacek did not play?
- He got his stomach sick. He will get better and get back to lineup.
- You changed the pair of defensemen Klok-Knot to Knot-Berezin. Could you rate Maxim’ game?
- We know the potential of Maxim. We are looking for the best pairs and lines. These preseason games are useful and help us to find best pair and lines for the upcoming season.
- You won the Ivan Romazan Memorial as a player with Metallurg and as a coach with Avtomobilist. How was it to take a part in this tournament with your new team?
- I always come to Magnitogorsk with special feelings. As a player, I spent the best years of my career here. Thanks to the organization for inviting us. We want to play a spectacular game.
- Did Frans Tuohimaa fit well into the team?
- He will be our first goaltender. We are also confident in Evgeny Ivannikov and Yaroslav Ozolin. We hope that Frans will be our number one.
- Den Sexton played his first game. Could you rate his game?
- Dan is okay. He spent about two weeks with the team. He is getting better and better.
- Have you changed your preseason training camp in the KHL in compare with your previous job in the VHL?
- I don’t think so. We made some adjustments according to the players in our roster. These preseason games are useful.
- Is it right to say that Neftekhimik will not sign any other players?
- We cannot afford more than our budget gave us. We are working on it on a daily basis. Any coach will be glad to have strong and skilled players in the roster.
