Oleg Leontyev: «I would like to congratulate all the fans on this victory»

Neftekhimik head coach Oleg Leontyev speaks with the media after a following 3–2 win over Barys.

– It was a nervous game after a long break. It is good that we got a win. The guys did a great job and played to the very end. I would like to congratulate all the fans on this victory.

– Many fans and experts are concerned about the second period problem – penalties. What happened with power play?

– We will analyze penalties we took. They are different. Maybe we were too much charged. We work on the power play, but for some reason it does not work during games.

– How would you rate the way Jean-Sébastien Dea played?

– It is always difficult to adjust. He had a good goal–scoring chance – hit the post. He is an experienced guy, he spent good seasons in the AHL, played in the NHL, I think he will help us.

– What about Nail Yakupov recovery?

– He had a surgery, the recovery time is unknown, and we may not see him on the ice this season.

Oleg Bolyakin, acting head coach of HC Barys:

– It was interesting game. We had a bad start and conceded unnecessary goal. After that, there was an individual mistake and we conceded second goal. When you lose 2–0, it is difficult to win such games, because the opponent is eager to make playoffs. The guys played well in the second, were focused and scored a goal. We were a little bit unlucky in taking advantage of goal–scoring chances we had. The third goal broke hit us hard mentally. While we were recovering from this goal, we lost 3-4 minutes.
