Oleg Leontyev: «It was a close game»

Neftekhimik head coach Oleg Leontyev speaks with the media after a following 5–6 overtime loss against Barys.

– It was quite an interesting game. It is time for us to climb up in the standings. We should give an opposing team credit. It was a close game. We could have won in the regular time. Unfortunately, we conceded the goal in overtime. We would like to congratulate Nikita Khoruzhev on his KHL debut; he scored one point. Filipp (Dolganov) played good as we as the whole team. Unfortunately, Dima Zhukenov got an injury.

– During the game, Nikita Khoruzhev played instead of Andrei Chivilyov.

– The Neftekhimik hockey school works great. Another Reaktor player is training with our team. Nikita Setdikov has arrived; he is also ready to play. Something happened to Andrey Chivilyov today. He had a lot of giveaways and lost a lot of puck battles. By the way, Nikita played well for his first KHL game.

– We got very important win. Our team played well. The opponent had more possession of the puck. In the second period, we played better. I would like to thank the guys. They played to the very end. We could have won in regulation time.
