Oleg Leontyev: «Our team tried its best and played to the very end»

Neftekhimik head coach Oleg Leontyev speaks with the media after a following 2–4 loss against SKA.

– We had a chance tie the game up in the third period. If we had scored on the power play or Sokolov scored, maybe we would have completely different outcome... We started the game well, after that we conceded two quick goals. Every shift is a decisive one. Conceding 3 goals on the road against this strong is not helping. Nevertheless, the guys did a good job! Our team tried its best and played to the very end. We played well.

– Did you want to change goltender Dolganov?

– There was no such thought, because it was not Filipp’s fault that we conceded goals.

– This season your team have got win over SKA. Can we say that the level of the KHL is leveling out?

– The number of foreigner players has decreased. KHL team trust young hockey players more. At the same time, difference in budgets between team is significant. That is why there is no need to talk about leveling out.
