Oleg Leontyev: «The team played with great dedication»

Oleg Leontyev speaks with the media after following 4:3 win against Salavat Yulaev.
– The team played its first preseason game after a two-week training camp. What are your thoughts about this training camp?
– It was good. We defeated a strong opponent. The team played with great dedication. We analyzed the way our special units played, tactics and etc.
– At home arena (Neftekhim Arena), there is Canadian sized rink. In Ufa, there is still a Finnish sized rink. Did the difference somehow affect the game?
– I would not say so. We played on the Finnish sized rink not so long time ago, that is why there was not so much difference.
– After a 3-goal lead, Neftekhimik conceded two quick goals. Maybe the guys just tired or after a 3-goal lead the team stopped play hockey?
– Not really. We played against strong opponent and in the third period they increased the pressure on our net. We conceded one of these two goals, playing 3 vs 5. However, we did not let them to tie the game up. We also did a good job in shootout series.
Nevertheless, I would like to note that this is a preseason hockey. There is no need to rush with drawing conclusions. There is a lot of work ahead.
