Neftekhimik head coach Oleg Leontyev speaks with the media after a following 2–1 win over Dynamo Moscow.
– The opponent had a great start. They had a 4-day break and it was clear that they were fresher and the first period was a bit difficult for us. We started the second great and scored on the power play. In the third, we did our best and got a win. Filipp Dolganov played great, he kept us in the game. The whole team did a good job!– How did it affect your team the news that the KHL Sibir got 4 technical losses?
– We had a meeting in the evening. I entered the hall and heard some kind of buzzing. I did not know about this news yet. My assistants told me. In my personal opinion, I respect the League’s decision, but personally I believe that “We need to be understandable with people, and look at the issue more broadly.” According to the letter of the regulations, the KHL did everything correctly, but from a human perspective, each issue must be approached separately. I believe that the issue could have been resolved differently. We did not clap that 4 points were taken from Sibir. We respect the fans and all teams in the League. We know how hard it is to win.
– Neftekhimik did not take any penalties against Dynamo Moscow. Their team have the best percentage of power play goals this season.
– We asked the guys to be careful with it. We did not let them to use this advantage.
