Oleg Leontyev: «We did not take advantage of the power play opportunity»

Neftekhimik head coach Oleg Leontyev speaks with the media after a following 1–6 loss against Spartak.

– The opponent was faster. Spartak first line did a great job. We had chances to score. We did not have time to recover. Spartak rested three days. We spent a lot of energy and emotions in last game against Ak Bars. We did not take advantage of the power play opportunity we had. Instead of 2–3, we got 1–4. We are preparing for the next game.

– Did you have any thoughts how to play against Spartak’s first line?

– Here, you need to make physical play.

– What do you think about first two months of the season for your team?

– We could have played more successfully, taking into account the fact that some of our lines did not play well for certain reasons. Our plan was different.
