Oleg Leontyev: «We played well against strong opponent»

Oleg Leontyev speaks with the media after a following 1–4 loss against Ak Bars.

– It was a hard-battled game. The team deserved to win. Unfortunately, the score is 1–4.
– You are right. It is what it is. We won a first period, played well, and had good chances to score as well as in the second period. Yeah, in the third period that goal from the blue line affected us in some way. In general, we played well against strong opponent. Moreover, today there were many rookies in our line-up. Some of them played their second KHL game. There is nothing bad about it. We are working on our mistakes and trying to find best line combinations.

– In two games, Anthony Camara made scored 3 points (2A+1G). Is he a new leader of the team?
– Like I said before, we only glad if the guys do their best to become leaders of the team. Last season we had Marat Khairullin, who played well and helped a lot. We watched Anthony’s game before signing him. He has a great shot, hockey mind, goal-scoring sense. Anthony has the qualities (skills) that a leader needs. We are happy that he is a Neftekhimik player.

– A few days ago, the club signed a contract with the French defenseman Yohann Auvitu. When will he arrive?
– Yohann is obtaining a work visa. I think this process will not take a long time and we will meet him soon.

– You recently said that the scouts are trying to find players in North America. Was it hard to sign the player from France?
– He has a Russian wife. Therefore, it was not a problem. He wanted to play in the KHL. I watched a lot of his games and it is safe to say that he is a fast defenseman who can play well on the power play. His average time on the ice per game in the Finnish league is over 20 minutes. I am sure he will help us. In fact, this year, more than ever, it is very difficult to invite foreign players.
