Press Conference «Dinamo Mn – Neftekhimik» 12/26/2022
Oleg Leontyev, the head coach of HC Neftekhimik:
– It was a good game. The guys did an excellent job. At first, it was not easy but we did our best. The whole team did a good job. This is teamwork. Congratulations to the team and fans on a victory.
– Neftekhimik scored a lot of goals today…
– We always have lots of scoring chances in every game. Today we took advantage of it.
– How important was it to end the losing streak?
– Mostly, we lost game and got at least one point. This is different thing in compare with losing and not getting any points. Our goal is to make playoffs. We need points. It is important for us to win every match. There are only 27 games left.
– Why did you change the goalie after second conceded goal?
– I felt that it was necessary to change something. You know, sometimes this kind of games happenes ... We believe in Sasha (Sudnitsin) and hope that it was an accidental thing.
Craig Woodcroft, the head coach of HC Dinamo Minsk:
– I think our team came out flat tonight. They scored under 4 shift of the game. Second, third and fourth shift was sleepy, gave the other team a momentum, some feeling like they can do some damage on us, they scored on the fourth shift. I thought we did a good job to kind of settle ourselves, get back into it, made a couple little adjustments, and manage resstle control of the game. But then, the individual l mistakes, the sloppy puck management, the turnovers. I think five of their seven goals came directly off of our turnovers and these individual mistakes are something that was plugging us since we have come back from the break. We need to tied it up. If we want to be successful. It is on us. We know it. We know we need to do. We need to do it with a lot of sence of urgency, with more pride, with more fight in our game, and obviously, it goes without saying, much better execution. We know that there is an urgency there.
