Neftekhimik head coach Oleg Leontyev speaks with the media after a following 2–3 overtime loss against Avtomobilist.

– It was a close game. In the first period, we did not make plenty of shots. It necessary to screen an opposing goaltender. In the second and third periods, we played better. Most of the guys did a good job. Filipp Dolganov kept us in the game. In overtime, an individual mistake led to penalty and conceded goal. Yeah, we got one point. It would be better to get two points. It is what it is.

We do not give up and we do not have any conflict situations. I do not know who spread these rumors. We are working and getting ready for the upcoming games. Everything will be fine. Thanks to the fans for their support.

– In recent games, we have significantly reduced the number of shots on goal. Why?

– We want to improve the situation; we do not shoot from high-scoring chance areas. We play simple and screen an opposing goalie. The game starts after the shot.

– We had a good start. In the first period, we took advantage of goal-scoring chances and outshot an opposing team. It was a hard game. We have not won in Nizhnekamsk for a long time. We are happy to get a win.
