Neftekhimik head coach Oleg Leontyev speaks with the media after a following 2–3 loss against Avtomobilist.
– Of course, it is nice to play with our fans at the stands. It is great when the team is supported like that. We appreciate it so much. It was a pretty tight game. We did not advantage in the first period. But there is an explanation for that – the opposing team had four days off before this game, and we were already playing our tenth game in twenty days. The same players were playing. Starting from the second period, we stepped up our game a bit and tied the game up. We could not score. There were a lot of goal–scoring chances. A couple of minutes before the end of a period, we took a penalty. When you are already down two goals, it is hard to save a game like that. You know, anything can happen. We will fight to the end. We scored a goal, reduced the gap. We could have scored another five seconds before, but it didn not work out.

Avtomobilist head coach Nikolai Zavarukhin: 

– We had a good start. It is great that we scored a quick goal and took the lead. We had another good goal–scoring chance, but we could not hit the empty net. In the second period, we had a hard time getting out from the opponent's pressure. It is worth to note that Neftekhimik had a couple of counterattacks. It was a tough game, in the third period we played according to the score. The power play unit worked hard today and scored a goal. We asked them to shoot more often. We blocked 21 shots. We were able to win a hard-fought road game. As it says, we are moving on.
