Press Conference «Neftekhimik – Barys» 12/19/2022

Oleg Leontyev, the head coach of HC Neftekhimik:

– In the first and second periods, we played well and got a lead. We were focused on the game and played with discipline. Unfortunately, in the third period positional mistakes in our D-zone led to two conceded goals. We let them play on our slot – the area that should be protected. It was a fast-paced game from both sides. Both teams had good goal-scoring chances. It is clear that this team is our direct opponent for making playoffs. We had a good mood, but at the most crucial moment for some reason we missed such goals. Our next game will be a hard one too. We are getting ready.

Andrei Skabelka, the head coach of HC Barys:

– It was not an easy game for us. For half of the game we tried to remind the way we should play. In the third period, I really liked the way we played. We took possesion of the puck and spent a lot of time in the offensive zone. That helped us score good goals. It is a crucial win for us. We are going to fly back home and prepare for the next games.
