Rafael Bikmullin: «The energy from the fans is what really drives us»

08.09.2026

Neftekhimik forward Rafael Bikmullin speaks with the media after a following 5–1 win over Sochi.

– Rafael, a year ago you came here as Sochi player and scored a goal against Neftekhimik, but today, wearing the Neftekhimik jersey, you found the net against Sochi. Does fate love symmetry?
– I would not say that; it’s just about having an incredible mindset. A hockey career can take many turns – you play here today, somewhere else tomorrow. In any case, we go into every game fully focused, and I am glad I managed to score.

– You did not expect that hit from Artur Tyanulin during the celebration, did you?
– It is actually hard to recall that moment. I have not even watched the replay yet. I think it turned out to be pretty funny.

– What can you say about the game overall?
– It was a good and fast–paced game. The crowd was pushing us forward. We could feel that energy, and basically, we did the job that was needed to do.

– In the first period, it seemed a bit tough to breakout of the zone early on.
– It was Sochi’s first game of the season, and that always brings a lot of emotion. We had to weather the storm a bit at that stage, but we handled it, scored the goals we needed to, and secured the win.

– What did you think of the atmosphere at the game today?
– The atmosphere was great, one hundred percent.
The energy from the fans is what really drives us. It is a shame there were fewer of them today. We look forward to seeing everyone at the next home games – let’s win together!
