Sergei Artemyev: «Unfortunately, we did not manage to win»
08.10.2026
Neftekhimik forward Sergei Artemyev speaks with the media after a following 0–1 loss against Avangard.
– Despite the loss, it was a decent game. What moments from the game would you highlight?– Unfortunately, we did not manage to win, but I think we played a solid game. The opposing goaltender was very reliable and kept us off the scoreboard. Looking at the game as a whole, we controlled the play and just needed to score, but we could not quite pull it off.
– After last season's playoffs, Avangard remains a key rival for Neftekhimik. Did the team sense that rivalry before the game, or are the events of last spring already in the past?
– From the very first seconds today, we felt that this was a major rivalry for us. The crowd was really pushing us forward. Avangard started the game very aggressively. It was clear from the start that it was going to be a tough game.
– Neftekhimik has an away game in Ufa coming up. What is the mindset heading into that trip?
– We are going to fight for the win and keep pushing forward.
