– It was a tough win. We had third home game against a direct playoff competitor. So we gave it a lot of effort and had to defend hard. Overall, it was a good win!
We had a good first shift. We played well with Damir Zhafyarov in the neutral zone – the puck did not get going on the first try, but then there was a good rebound, and I scored.
I think the good start was a big part of what made us win. When you are up 2–0, it is much easier to play. Our opponent needed to come back, and they stepped it up a bit. We conceded one goal, but it is good that we scored shorthanded and regained our two–goal lead.
In games like these, the key is to keep a cool head and stay calm. We accomplished that.
