Reaktor defenseman Vsevolod Favrichnikov speaks with the media after a following 1–2 loss against Sputnik.
– We ended the game the same way we started – badly. We conceded one goal right away, during the first five minutes. Broke hockey’s golden rule: don’t get scored on early or late in a period. Then we shot ourselves in the foot with seven minutes of penalties in the final ten.– How did it feel to play the season opener? Any nerves?
– Not really. We were just pumped the season was finally here. Everyone was fired up. We wanted to come out and play well in Game 1. Maybe a few guys were too jacked.
– What was the coach’s message in the room after the game?
– Flush it. We’ll bounce back stronger. We are not hanging our heads; we are moving forward.
– What did you make of the atmosphere in the stands?
– The fans gave us a huge lift today. They had our backs and brought the noise, but unfortunately we couldn’t give them the result they wanted.
