Yegor Korbit:"I am very glad that at the end of the season I had the opportunity to join Neftekhimik"

08.06.2024

During the season, Neftekhimik forward Yegor Korbit joined Neftekhimik and immediately took a stable place in the lineup.

Yegor, how do you evaluate the last season?
– It was very interesting season.  I am very glad that at the end of the season I had the opportunity to join Neftekhimik and play.

– The debut in the Pack turned out to be eventful.  You moved to Neftekhimik from Rostov and immediately went to the Far East, you scoted your first KHL goal, got a wolf pendant from the team. What can you say about yourself?Surely you remembered all these emotions and experiences.

– Everything happened quite quickly and there was no time to worry.  When both teams agreed on my transfer to Neftekhimik, I was with HC Rostov in Novokuznetsk, and after 2 or 3 days I already went to the game against Admiral.  It was easy for me because my brother Prokhor was playing for the Sailors at the time. I came to visit him and was very glad to see him.  Plus, my parents were happy that we were both in the KHL now.  All this helped me. I felt calm. My brother is nearby and in the second game I happily played against him.

About the goal I scored. Yes, it is great that I managed to score right away and the team gave me a wolf pendant - it is all wonderful. Of course, I was happy about this, but there was no time to feel euphoric. The season was in full swing. I played about 40 games in the VHL this season and now my career continued in Neftekhimik, we fought for making playoffs, but of course I was happy about such a start in the KHL.

– Who is the most inconvenient goaltender for you in the KHL?
– I am not ready to answer this question yet.  I’ll be able to say something when I’ve played a lot more in the KHL.

– How do you spend your free time between games?
– First of all, I am trying to recover and approach the new game in better shape. I usually watch either movies or hockey.  I do not do anything special between games.

– The next KHL championship will last a month longer.  How do you assess this event?
– This is probably good, but I am not ready to evaluate it yet.  Our team needs to make playoffs and extend the season as long as possible.
