Neftekhimik Forward Yegor Popov speaks with the media after a following 2–1 win against Sochi.
– We did not play well today. Sochi is a young team and there is no ressure on them. Therefore, it was a little hard. It is a good thing that all our guys fought to the very end.
– Why in the first period there were scored 4 pucks by both teams and only one in the second and third?
– In the first period there were a lot of counterattacks from both sides. This is not the way we usualy play. That is why our center forwards were told to play higher in order to prevent opponent’s counterattacks.
– Our next opponent is Metallurg Mg. They are on a 2-game losing streak. Is the team ready?
– Sure. We played against Metallurg Mg on the road this season and got a 6–5 win. It is obvious that they will try to win today. At the same time, we also have to win. We need these points. We will try to do our best.
