In the game against Sibir, Filipp Dolganov secured his 62nd victory, thereby setting a new record for the most wins by a Neftekhimik goaltender. The previous record, held by Alexander Sudnitsin, stood at 61 wins.
– Filipp, you have broken the club record for wins.
– Yes, I am very glad. I am really happy. Thanks to the club and to all the players who were part of this over the last four seasons. We keep moving forward. Thanks to the fans for their support, and a huge thank you to my family and parents for everything. I am very happy.
– Regarding today’s game – the outcome was a bit nerve–wracking.
– Actually, it was a good game. We played an exciting, attacking style of hockey. I think everyone enjoyed it.
– Filipp, there is a lot being written and said about Neftekhimik right now, including the goaltending duo. You and Yaroslav really complement each other well. How does your partnership work?
– Honestly, I do not know what is being written or said – I do not read it. As for our partnership, it is good, we are friends. We have known each other for years – practically since childhood. So, everything is great, we have excellent communication.
– Is it true that having two roughly equal goaltenders on the team motivates them and drives them to train and play better?
– Of course. Competition is always a good thing. You grow through competition; it is a driving force for progress. That is why I am really glad to have such a strong partner – someone who can step up and play a great game at any moment. I think we help each other grow.
