Fyodor Kroschinsky: «It was a hard–battled game»

11.02.2025

Neftekhimik player Fyodor Kroschinsky speaks with the media after a following 2–3 overtime loss against Sochi.

– It was a hard–battled game. We were able to take the lead in the third period, but, apparently, the flight affected us. We started making mistakes, which is why we missed completely unnecessary goals that decided the outcome of the game.

You said after the second period that the game would open up after the first goal. There were four of them in the third twenty minutes. In your opinion, was it only fatigue that affected the result or did the hosts add movement?
Probably everything together. Our fatigue played a role, and Sochi wanted to tie the score. The opponent also understood that there was very little time left, they needed to go for broke, score important goals. Unfortunately, they succeeded.

What was missing to bring the game to victory?
It seems there was not enough stability in the defensive zone. Somewhere they didn't back each other up, didn't help. In addition, if there had been more strength, the match would have turned out completely differently.
