Neftekhimik forward Grigory Seleznyov speaks with the media after a following 5–0 win over Torpedo.
– It was a good game, everyone was in a great mood. It was our last game of the year, and we really wanted to please both myself and the fans. I'm really glad it worked out that way.– Which part of the game was key today?
– I don't think I can say. We played well in the first, second, and third periods–everything was pretty even. We had a lot of chances, and we could have scored even more.
– What can you say abiut your goal?
– When we're shorthanded, we always go out on the ice with Gera Tochilkin. Obviously, the main goal is to not concede, but at the same time, we always think about running away and scoring. It just happened that way: I skated away and made a shot.
– You came out for today's game with gifts and in costumes. Did you surprise the fans with gifts in anticipation of the New Year?
–Yeah, that was a cool idea, it worked out. I think the fans really enjoyed it, and we loved the new jerseys we wore to the warm–up. Our fans always give us great support at home. Thank you for that. I'd like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Happy New Year!
