One of the founders of the Neftekhimik hockey club, Gayaz Zyamikovich Sakhapov, celebrates his 85th birthday.
Since the beginning of the 90s, Neftekhimik, under the leadership of Gayaz Sakhapov, has been moving forward step by step. Got a Silver Medal in 1994 and Gold Medal in 1995 in the Russian Open Championship became the crown of the attention and support that was provided to the Nizhnekamsk hockey team.Through the efforts and perseverance of Gayaz Zyamikovich, Neftekhimik joined the International Hockey League in 1995. Both the players and fans of Neftekhimik knew that this is his merit – big hockey in our small city.
