Igor Grishin: «In the third preiod we had advantage»

Neftekhimik Head Coach Igor Grishin speaks with the media after a following 3–4 loss agaisnt Avangard.
– I believe that this game is kind of similar to those we experienced last year. Avangard played active hockey and physically aggressive throughout the opening frame, applying sustained pressure. On previous occasions, we were able to absorb that early momentum, yet in this instance we conceded a goal.From the second period onward, we elevated our pace and consistently beat our opponents to loose pucks. In the third preiod we had advantage. We were within reach of tying the game up, but we did not have enough skill.
– What did this tournament mean for your preseason?
– Everything. Before this, we had only played Ak Bars once – forget the VHL games. We needed to see the new guys, test different lines. Some things clicked, some did not. But we got tons of material to work on. That is the main thing.
