Neftekhimik player Mikhail Pashnin speaks with the media after a following 4–2 win over Lada.
– We got a necessary victory in a game against a direct competitor for playoofs. We are fighting for the playoffs with Lada, that is why this victory is valuable. In general, we need to get two points in each game. We always come out fired up, trying to achieve a positive result.
– In recent games, Neftekhimik has started well, opening the scoring first. But then we fail to increase the advantage. Where and what is the problem?
– As soon as we stop holding the puck, the situation immediately worsens. We start to roll back to our goal. You probably saw how today in the second period we played a little more actively, pressed the opponent. Because of this, the visitors began to make mistakes, the initiative was on our side. We began to play more actively, thanks to which we achieved success. We know that there is nowhere to retreat.
– Today the majority started working, the team has not scored for a long time. Perhaps something has changed in the training process? Or have we somehow become more attentive to this component?
– We work on the power play at every training session. Some things work out, some don't. In general, I would like to note that today was a good game overall.
– The intrigue lasted for a long time. However, towards the end of the game, the question of the winner was removed. Will this victory give us confidence in upcoming games?
– Yes, of course! Experienced guys, such as Kirill Kapustin and Evgeny Mityakin, made a result, removed the question of the winner of the game. Of course, the victory will give us confidence.
