Neftekhimik's KHL lesson

05.03.2025

Students from School No. 29 and Gymnasium No. 2 in Nizhnekamsk, instead of a math or literature lesson, came to a lesson that is not in the school curriculum - a KHL lesson!

Neftekhimik forward Alexander Dergachev, defenseman Roman Abrosimov and the club's permanent mascot, the Wolf, really got the young fans of Nizhnekamsk hockey going.

The schoolchildren watched a cartoon about hockey and the KHL, an incendiary video from a home game at the Neftekhim Arena and a dance by the team's support group, loudly shouted the pack's victory cry "Who are we? Wolves!", guessed the name of the hockey players' equipment and were able to ask questions directly to the Neftekhimik players. Among the most interesting was the story of how Alexander Dergachev lost his teeth and why is the wolf the symbol of our team?

Vladislav Svilin, a student at School No. 29: "I wanted to check if Aleksandr Dergachev knew another name for being offside. He did. I liked everything today. I play hockey at our Neftekhimik Youth Sports School and we always go to Neftekhimik games with the team."

The most touching thing was said by Kabir, a student at Gymnasium No. 2, who picked up the microphone: "I have no questions. I just want to support my team!"

No sooner said than done! The assembly hall full of kids recorded a video message to the Neftekhimik players, who are currently playing away games in the Far East.

Each student who came to the KHL Lesson received the ABCs of Hockey as a gift and tickets to one of our team's upcoming home games on March 11 and 21.

Roman Abrosimov, defenseman for the Neftekhimik HC: "A great event.  We need to tell the kids about hockey so that they come to our matches and maybe start playing themselves. It's always nice to see happy kids."
