Neftekhimik vs Barys (previous games history)

Tomorrow Neftekhimik will play fly to Astana. We will tell you more about the statistics of the games between Neftekhimik and Barys.
We will focus on the first game, which took place on September 3, 2008. Looking up the game stats, we see the names of players that are familiar to us. Goaltender Ivan Kasutin, defensemen Sergei Bernatsky, Tomas Starosta, Denis Sokolov, Zhenya Ryasensky, Ilshat Bilalov, our local players. Forwards Dmitry and Konstantin Makarov, Evgeny Lapenkov, Radik Zakiyev (also our local players). But these guys have already finished their hockey careers.

If we look at the Barys roster for that game, we will also find familiar names. Perhaps, many of you remember Kevin Dallman, an offensive defenseman (who also played for SKA), Sergei Gimayev Jr., who now holds an important position in the KHL, Konstantin Glazachev, Alexander Koreshkov. We will mention a few more names. Alexander Titov led the team onto the ice as captain for that game, Denis Shemelin, who had previously played for Neftekhimik, and goaltender Denis Franskevich, a graduate of Neftekhimik school. By the way, then head coach Alexander Vysotsky entrusted the net in that game to Denis, and not to the more famous 34-year-old Canadian Mark Lamothe.

And that is not all. From that Astana team, Roman Starchenko, at 38, continues to play at a high level. He played 835 games in the KHL. It is quite possible that we will see him in the upcoming game against Barys.
