Nizhnekamsk–Style KHL Hockey Lesson
13.10.2026

Before the start of Neftekhimik’s road game in Ufa, students from Lyceum No. 37 and the Adymnar Gymnasium took part in a major "Hockey Lesson" organized by the KHL – an event that was far more than mere entertainment; it was a genuine educational initiative.
The first rule the students learned was the team chant: Who are we? Wolves! They shouted it out with gusto, and right then and there, one could feel the very same team spirit that is so vital to hockey. Soon after, the crowd favorite – the club’s Wolf mascot – made his appearance. His arrival sparked a wave of excitement: the children waved happily, tried to snap photos, and simply soaked up the electric atmosphere of big-time sports.

The program became even more interesting after that. The cheerleaders held a workshop, showing how the spectacular side of the game comes to life.

A highlight of the meeting was a visit from team defenseman Yegor Yuzlenko. Yegor came to see the kids, shared a bit about his journey in hockey and the daily life of an athlete, and, of course, answered their questions.

There was also a practical component. The kids practiced identifying hockey gear: they learned the purpose of chest protectors, shin guards, and gloves, and how to put on a helmet correctly.
To wrap up the lesson, every student received a gift: a hockey ABC book, stickers featuring the mascot Krut, and a ticket to the next Neftekhimik home game. The students promised to attend the game and bring their parents along.

Once the lesson ended, it was time to watch the hockey game and cheer wholeheartedly for Neftekhimik on the big screen. Their support was truly heartfelt – and for the team, that is arguably the most valuable thing of all, even from a distance.
