Neftekhimik got a win over Severstal 7–1.
Neftekhimik scored first goal of the game in the first period, 23 seconds into the opening frame. Damir Zhafyarov too kadvantage of a one-on-one opportunity against the Severstal goaltender after receiving a great pass from Yevgeny Mityakin.After that, Mityakin initiated a rush from defensive zone – following a feed from Timothy Lovell, and distributed the puck to the right flank for Viktor Andreychenko, who marked his 22nd birthday. The forward beat goaltender with a great wrist shot.
Four minutes later, Mityakin found the back of the net himself on the rebound and extend the lead to 3–0. Play had barely resumed from centre ice when Andreichenko completed his brace, firing a shot over Skotnikov's shoulder. Vladislav Eremenko, making his debut for the "Pack", and Ilya Pastukhov were credited with the assists. Notably, as in the previous game, Pastukhov's parents were in attendance, having made the journey from Novosibirsk specifically for the tournament.
Just prior to the first intermission, Neftekhimik converted a power-play opportunity, with Artur Tyanulin finding the back of the net to send the teams to the locker room with a 5–goal advantage.
Naturally, the tempo subsided following the five-goal cushion, leading to a prolonged scoreless stretch. However, with three minutes remaining before the second intermission, the Wolves struck again on the man-advantage. A fluid three-way passing combination involving German Tochilkin, Viktor Andreichenko, and Matvei Zaseda culminated in a well-executed finish.
The third period saw the teams exchange goals. Ivan Nikolishin rounded out the scoring for the evening. While Artur Tyanulin did not receive an official assist on the play, it is noteworthy that his involvement was instrumental in the build-up.
