Press Conference «Barys – Neftekhimik» 10/04/2022

Oleg Leontyev, the head coach of HC Neftekhimik:

– That was a hard-battled game. Victory is victory. It is important that we played in a right way. Now the main thing is not to lose. You know, just move on and don't relax and keep momentum going. We knew that today would be difficult game. In the first period, we got three penalties. Our pk unit did a great job. Our goalie played great and kept us in the game.

– Why did the team have such a bad beginning of the season?

– We have changed our goaltending line. Players have become more confident. Of course, we did not expect that kind of the beginning of the season. During preseason, there were not any reasons for that. As it says, a goaltender is more than half of the team.

Andrei Skabelka, the head coach of HC Barys:

– We are disappointed with the outcome of the game. Neftekhimik is an organized and patient team. We had enough chances to score but we made such ridiculous mistakes that led to conceded goals. Somewhere we had a lack of game discipline.
