Reaktor lost to Chaika 3–4.

Our team got off to a very strong start. Toward the end of the first period, the Nizhnekamsk side held a comfortable two-goal lead. Ilyas Sirazetdinov opened the scoring, with Vsevolod Kuznetsov and Alexander Panov involved in the build-up. In the 17th minute, captain Mikhail Andreyev doubled the lead with a sharp shot. However, two minutes later, Reaktor had a chance to deliver a decisive blow on a 5-on-4 power play after the visitors were penalized for too many men on the ice. Instead of capitalizing on the man advantage, the hosts gave up a dangerous counterattack. Vsevolod Kuznetsov was forced to commit a foul to stop an opponent’s breakaway on goaltender Alexander Kolymayev. Yan Melnikov calmly converted the resulting penalty shot.

Midway through the game, Chaika tied the game up. However, it took our team just one minute to regain the lead – David Romanov scored with a precise shot, forcing the Chaika goaltender to fish the puck out of his net. Once again, they failed to hold onto the precarious lead. Just before the second intermission, the visitors capitalized on a positional error by the Reaktor defense to tie the game.

In the final period, our team had a genuine chance to take the lead on a power play. But nerves and emotions got the better of the players again. While trying to execute the man-advantage play, they lost the puck, allowing three Chaika players to break in on Kolymaev’s net. The counterattack was executed to textbook perfection, and a fourth goal found the back of the Reaktor net. That goal proved to be the winner for the visitors. To the hosts’ credit, they fought until the final buzzer and created several dangerous chances, but ultimately failed to salvage the game.
