The Power of Attention: New Technologies for players at the Neftekhimik Hockey School
16.01.2026

Maintaining focus, developing peripheral vision, and quick reactions are invaluable qualities for a good hockey player. In order to develop these skills, the players of the Neftekhimik Hockey School were given the opportunity to train on the "Power of Attention" simulator. This was made possible through targeted funds received from the KHL for sports development.
A session with the simulator takes approximately 20 minutes. Players wear special VR goggles, immerse themselves in an alternate reality, and complete tasks, gradually progressing from basic exercises to more complex ones. All individual results will be recorded and saved to track each player's progress.Neftekhimik Hockey School Ildar Nugmanov:
– The 3D-MOD "Power of Attention" is designed to develop visual–cognitive attention and improve brain function. The Russian national team, as well as leading academies and schools across the country, use this system. After training, visual attention and information processing speed improve – in short, it's eye and brain training, which transfers into a real advantage for our players.
Neftekhimik 2012 goaltender Viktor Semchenko:
– It was very interesting, especially since it helps develop peripheral vision and attention. Just like in a game, you can't always see the player skating or the puck. These exercises will help us be more focused.
