Neftekhimik forward Vladimir Bryukvin talks about 1–2 loss against Severstal.
– Vladimir, how would you rate today's game? Not everything worked out in the game.– It was a good game. We took too much penalties. We tried to play actively in the first period. The opponent's players are young and fast. They outran us. In the second period, we rolled back, started to meet them more often in the neutral zone, thanks to this tactic they made mistakes. We started counterattacking, the game became equal. Then we conceded two shorthanded goals. We started to play actively, Belozyorov had good chances to score. There were chances, we had to capitalize on them and pull the game out.
– How would you rate the performance at the tournament overall. How much did you like it?
– It was a good tournament. The result, of course, leaves much to be desired. We do not have many players, so some played all four games. It was tough for the guys. In any case, this is not an excuse. We still have to go out and win. Overall, the tournament can be considered a success.
– You were successful in shootouts. Did you practice it?
– I was always offered to make a penalty shot. In principle, I know what to do.
